At present Sunday’s Bread Inclusive Catholic Worship Community of Pittsburgh is about 15 members strong.  We meet in the social hall of All Saints Episcopal Church, at the corner of McClure and Davis Streets in the Brighton Heights area of Pittsburgh, PA.   All Saints has been our “home” since 2010, and the hospitality is greatly appreciated.  We gather together for weekly liturgy and Eucharist, followed by a simple breakfast.  The community celebrates joyfully – liturgy, birthdays, holidays, and during spring picnic retreats.  Also, we are involved in community outreach, social justice advocacy, and inter-faith forums.

In the early years, when members first selected a name – Sunday’s Bread – it was decided to remain flexible as a community.  While that flexibility continues in important ways, during 2019 the community became incorporated within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under the name Sunday’s Bread Inclusive Catholic Worship Community Association, and IRS certification was granted.

On June 30, 2018, Bishop Mary Eileen Collingwood, ARCWP, ordained our Liturgical Leader, Gerry Lococo, to the diaconate.  “Gerry”, as she prefers to be called, continued her seminary studies toward priestly ordination; Gerry was ordained a priest on October 21, 2021.

“Anyone who is in Gerry’s presence walks away knowing that they are not only alive but spiritually energized!  She stands in a holy place and receives many blessings.  In turn so goes those who meet, pray and live with Gerry.  Be it in a show of solidarity in ecumenical gatherings, or a clear voice for justice, Gerry shines her light for all to see and witness."

During our 2017 picnic retreat -- in parallel with food, fun, and spiritual reflection. -- we collaborated on a revision to the community’s early-years mission statement, crafted a vision for the future, and agreed upon community values.
